The ScanMaker 9700XL, an advanced high resolution, and high performance scanner with A3 scanning size, features a dual (USB, and SCSI II) interface structure, OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and optional TMA (Transparent Media Adapter) support. Better yet, the ScanMaker 9700XL provides image editing, management software, and supports network scanning under Windows, making it more powerful than ever.

The 1200-dpi optical mechanism makes the ScanMaker 9700XL stand out from most the current large-format scanners on the market. An optical dynamic range of 3.7 Dmax delivers accurate color, superb shadows and highlights crisp details and sharp images without compromise. With a true optical resolution of 48-bit at 1200 dpi scanning, the ScanMaker 9700XL captures a tremendous amount of details from your large-format A3 scanner areas, allowing scans to be printed in great details, thus revealing superior image quality.

  The ScanMaker 9700XL has a 21,360-element CCD with resolution that reaches up to 1,200 pixels per inch. It is capable of delivering full 48-bit depth color for richer and smoother tonal values, and an optical range of 3.7 Dmax that allows users to capture details of highlight and shadow areas, as well as accurately represent gradation and natural color from originals without sacrificing details of the image.
• Microtek's High-tech Scanning Technology : Multiple Sampling Technology 
  Random noise is a prime agent that affects the quality of scanned images. To reduce such noise, Microtek implemented the Multiple Sampling Technique into the ScanMaker 9700XL to optimize image data while reducing data variation. With the Multiple Sampling technology, each scanned line is sampled several times (sampling may be set by user at 2, 4, 8 or 16 frequency per line). An average is then obtained to distill top-quality data. This technique effectively minimizes signal fluctuation and artifacts, resulting in a purer image output, which results to an enhanced optical density range.
